apples and preserving

I have been busy working with a friend for a few days, very interesting and totally new glamorous world.  Working opposite us was a lovely lady, who had the most delicious dehydrated apple crisps as part of her display.  I discovered that she had made them herself from apples her children picked in their south London garden!  She was so enthusatic about her dehydrator, its made me want one - a fabulous way of preserving friut.  J loves making chutney, but other than my various attempts at marmalade, jam and jelly all not that sucessfull, freezing is my main way of preserving.  I have found some great ways of preserving, but now have a dehydrator on my Christmas /birthday list.

Am looking out on ebay now!

I've never heard of a dehydrator for food I will go and check it out, I have tried drying out food in a low oven but never been successful x

I love using my dehydrator! There are so many things you can do with it. I currently have a ton of red bell peppers and corn waiting now to dehydrate this week.

I am soo behind in my blog reading so only just got to this! we have been away on holiday. I have always fancied a dehydrator so let me know how you get on. Can you just leave the oven on low overnight or is that just for those AGA types?
